Our beloved puppy, who is not a puppy anymore, receives special privileges as well. Yep, you guessed it, homemade treats! I like to know exactly what is going into her tummy to prevent any sickness. I like to make her treats using natural foods, and bonus, I can eat them too. I make a large batch and keep them in our freezer. She does not leave my side when I am in the kitchen. Just look at those puppy eyes. How can anyone resist giving her what she wants?

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups oats (quick or rolled)

  • 1 large Banana

  • 1/2 cup Peanut Butter (No salt, No sugar)

  • Dash of cinnamon

  • Dash of ground flax

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees;

  2. Grind oats in food processor;

  3. Mash bananas, then in same bowl beat peanut butter;

  4. Mix with oats and form a dough;

  5. Roll out flat to about a quarter inch thickness;

  6. Cut with cookie cutters and place on lined baking sheet;

  7. Bake for 15 minutes; and

  8. Store in airtight container for 1 week or freeze.
